Bushlink is an online bookings platform that has been custom built for and, co-designed with, RFDS primary healthcare patients in outback South Australia. 

Bushlink provides all-hours access for patients (existing or new) to book and manage face-to-face primary health appointments via smartphone, tablet or computer.

Beginning 2025, Bushlink is being rolled out gradually across communities. Currently Bushlink is only available for visiting primary health clinics on our RFDS bush runs (see list below) and in the town of Yunta.

When using Bushlink, you have:

• all-hours access to a calendar to see when services are next coming to you.

• all-hours access to see available appointment times.

• ability to book, reschedule or cancel your own appointments – or book on behalf of someone else (with their consent).

• booking confirmations and appointment reminders.

• ability to receive health information and relevant forms.

• ability to communicate with the RFDS Primary Health Team via the message function.

• ability to receive real-time updates of crew arrival times.

A one-time password (OTP) is a security check that means you don’t need to remember a password. Each time you log-in to Bushlink, you will be sent a 6-digit code to use as an OTP.

It is safe, fast and reliable.

Bushlink is not for health emergencies. If you have any serious concerns about your health, call the Emergency 1800 733 772 number to speak with one of our on-call Doctors.

You have up to 36 hours before your appointment time to make changes in Bushlink.

All of our remote SA health service communities can book telehealth appointments.

Book phone or video consults with a doctor, midwife, nurse, mental health, physio, dietician, pharmacist or podiatrist. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Yes, you have the ability to communicate with the clinic via secure 2-way text messages. 

You can write and send a message to the clinic from within your booked appointment details, or via your Bushlink Inbox. 

Messaging in Bushlink is only suitable for general information to support you and your clinician. 

Bushlink is: 
not a communication channel for urgent medical or health issues.
not designed for 24/7 real-time chats or 24/7 health questions. 

You can update your personal information, like address and phone number, at any time. If you notice something is incorrect, please update it before your next appointment. 

Navigate to the Account tab, select Request for update and update your details as needed. 

Yes, Bushlink follows Royal Flying Doctor Service privacy and security measures to ensure the confidentiality of your personal information. Your data is protected in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. 

You can help keep your Bushlink account secure by: 

• keeping your login credentials secure and not sharing them with others; 

• accessing Bushlink through a secure internet connection; and 

• logging out of Bushlink after each use. 

When booking on behalf of another patient, minimal patient information is captured by the third party. All appointment notifications, reminders, resources, and forms will be sent directly to the patient receiving the treatment.
